Nijenborgh 4 gets a major makeover
To make the building suitable for teaching and research for several more years, a plan has been launched to renovate building sections and demolish others. In Nijenborgh 4, hard work is being done to make the building parts that remain ready for physics and chemistry practical teaching, a number of groups of the ENTEG Institute and offices of HSE. A new logistics corner has also been created to make work more efficient.
Some laboratories have received major improvements, both structural and technical. At the same time, building sections 5117 and 5118 are being demolished. The new part of the second phase of Feringa Building will be built on that site.
The work will be realised in a construction team by the UG's Real Estate Projects Department, De Groot Lammerink for installations and B. REER Sloop en Grondwerken BV for demolition and asbestos remediation and Rottinghuis Aannemingsbedrijf BV for construction.
