Movin' to the UG

A student team of Movin' to the UG will once again be at Schiphol airport Tuesday the 27th and Wednesday the 28th of August from 08:00 to 20:00 to welcome new students to the country and to help them on their way to Groningen.
Would you like to be welcomed at the airport? Then please let the team know when you're arriving, so that they know when to expect you at the arrivals gate or central meeting plaza.

Faculty Introduction

Time: 11:15 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Where: Kouwerzaal (M.0161)

The Mobility Office team will hold an introductory presentation on important practical and study-related matters. You will need this information in order to make the most of your exchange semester @BSS. You will also receive your welcome kit. After the presentation, you will have the possibility to ask questions and get documents signed (if required by your home university).

Introduction to the Library

When: Wed 04-09-2024

Time: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Where: Kouwerzaal (M.0161)

Since you will have to use the University Library facilities frequently during your exchange semester, we will offer a (mandatory) introduction session. During the introduction to the library you will be given instructions on how to find literature (e.g., e-books, journal articles) and how to use some of the more specialized databases of the University of Groningen.

Workshop "Studying Successfully @BSS"

Where: Hv.0306, Hv.0307, Hv.0406 & Hv.0407

In order for you to get familiar with your new academic environment and the Dutch academic culture, our academic advisors Alette Arendshorst and Tekke Terpstra have prepared a short online workshop for you. The workshop is an obligatory part of the BSS welcome week since it aims at helping you to succeed in your studies at BSS. You will be made aware of possible differences between the academic culture of your home university and the University of Groningen. Besides, Alette and Tekke will explain how to best prepare for an exam at BSS, how to manage your time according to the academic calendar and will make you aware of cultural aspects that might be new to you.
