Where to start
With so much to learn, explore and experience in your new programme, it's important to know where to start. We've collected here, in the Introduction Pages, the most important information for you to get a good start to your programme. Enjoy browsing!
Please make sure to check:
- Kick-off Activities to see what is planned for you in the first days of your programme. You are expected on campus for the very important Kick-off lecture ‘Introduction to your degree programme’ by your own academic advisor.
- Books and other materials to ensure you have the materials you need to get started. Note that you have a lab practical in 1A where a lab coat is mandatory!
- Introduction and Preparation - This section on the LST Student Portal contains more information on getting started in your programme.
- Your personal account to log in and take a look around before classes start. This will also provide you access to the Student Portal where you can find all information about your degree programme for the coming years as well.
- The spam/junk mail folder of your email in case any emails from the University ended up in there.
- International students - Check New to the Netherlands for more helpful information and links, such as the International Welcome Center North, where you can find such useful information as 'how does public transport in the Netherlands work?'.
- Students with an impairment or health issues - Check Student Support and the Student Service Centre for further information on studying with a functional impairment or health issues. The Student Service Centre also offers an online information tool you can use to apply for extra exam time or other facilities.
Do not forget to complete your university registration on time, including the payment of your tuition fees. You can always check the status of your registration in Studielink, or contact Student Information and Administration in case you have questions about this issue.
We hope that you will enjoy your time at our faculty, learn as much about exciting new developments in your field of science as about yourself, and experience working together with people from all over the world!
