Practical sustainable solutions for complex questions of chemical processes. 

• We will take over the recruitment of the highly qualified trainees.
• Cost for recruitment will be lower.
• You will get motivated (temporary) employees with a relevant background, knowledge and skills. 
• The trainees will get specialised training in technical post-master courses to guarantee their expertise.
• The trainee can use the infrastructure/facilities of both the university and companies. 
• Traineers will get support from university supervisors (experts in their field).
• JFT-subsidy of about 50% of the costs possible.

Examples of recent 4TU design projects.

The EngD-SPD is at the third cycle of university education (the same level as PhD).

• Two-year programme (120 ECTS).
• Objective: complete a technological design that solves an industrial problem.
• Intensive training programme with courses & workshops (organized in trimesters) in the first year.
  Specialized technical EngD courses and non-technical courses (e.g.: Advanced Thermodynamics, Advanced Industrial Catalysis, Numerical Methods for Engineers, Process Dynamics & Control, Advanced Separation Processes I, Advanced Transport Processes, Leadership and management skills, and Project Management).
• Work on the transition to sustainable solutions and technological innovation by executing a company specific design project in the 2nd year.
• Supervision of the EnD trainees by University and company professionals.

The programme will be certified by the Dutch accreditation commission (CCTO) under the responsibility of the Dutch Ministry of OCW.

The candidates hold a masters degree in chemical engineering or related. They are selected together with members of the company based on excellence, creativity, and problem-solving qualities.

Ultimately, the company has the final decision. The programme is also open for existing employees, for whom the programme is a valuable next step in their career.

Trainees can be employed by the university or on payroll by the companies where the design project takes place. In either case, the trainee receives a monthly salary, and the participating companies cover the tuition fee.
