Your first week as a new uni student in GIFs

The first week of the academic year is very exciting yet sometimes hectic, especially if you're a new student. Everything is new and unfamiliar while you try to find your way around. To honour this experience, here are some relatable moments in the first week as a new student!
When you get lost on your way to class because you don’t know the buildings yet (a special shout out to the confusing coloured lines at the Harmony Building). Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Just know, the front desk is always ready to help you!
When you barely make it on time after having frantically wandered through half the building looking for the room. The RELIEF!
When you don’t know if the people in the room are your actual classmates or not (happens to me after every summer, to be honest).
When you try to make new friends with people who seem to know each other already. Because, yep, socialising must also happen during the first week. Here are some tips to help you!
When you said you’d try to stay on top of things but fail on the first day.
When you look at all the new assignments in your agenda after the first week.
And last but not least, when you come home after all the hecticness and realise you live alone now.
Hopefully, this post has you in stitches. Let us know if there are any instances typical for the first week of the academic year that are also fun to know. Good luck with your studies! :)

Hiya! :) I’m Hylke, a Dutch MA English Literature student. People often ask me if I’m Frisian, but sadly I’m not; I just have a Frisian name. I love reading, writing, meeting with friends, and the colour yellow, so much so that I take pictures of every yellow wall I can find!
