USVA at the Park 2019

Enjoy the summer weather by going to USVA at the Park this Thursday (today). Now that exams are coming to an end, you can start enjoying the sun with a guilt-free conscience! There will be live music, food and drinks. The theme of this one-day festival is Bohemian Summer; dress up, pretend you’re somewhere less North than you are and bask in the sun. 

Liccen in de Papiermolen - GAAT DOOR

The weather forecast for this week is looking very toasty. One way to cool yourself down other than staying at home and taking an ice bath is to go to the Papiermolen and enjoy the outdoor swimming pool party they’re hosting. Zomerconcert Groningen

GSMG Bragi, the oldest student music association in Groningen, has organised a summer concert in the Aa Kerk. They will be performing a set called Messa di Gloria. I looked it up, I shouldn’t have been surprised that it was actually classical music, but for some reason I was. 

A Movie by Front Line

Front Line studios will create a movie on the spot using the suggestions of their audience. I can see this interactive movie-creation event being either a complete success or a throw-back to high school film class failures. Either outcome will most likely be entertaining. 

Noorderplantsoen Volleybal Toernooi

This annual Volleyball Tournament will be held in Noorderplantsoen. If there’s one summer sport that almost all Dutch people are lowkey into, it’s volleyball. It’s a great group activity, and entertaining to play almost anywhere: the park, beach, swimming pool, parking lot… 

Chess on the Beach

Going to the Stadstrand with your friends anyway? If you’re like me and get restless after half an hour sitting in the sun, why not sign your friend group up for chess on the beach as a fun little surprise? They won’t expect it and might not appreciate it, but at least you’ll be entertained.
