Now that exam season has started again, you are probably studying for hours at the University Library. At least, I am. Whether you go there every exam season, or for the first time, here is a list of everything you definitely need for the optimal study experience at the UB!
Your student card
One of the most important items in the starter pack is your student card. Without it you are lost. No, not really. But you cannot enter the study rooms without it. And I know from personal experience that forgetting your student card will cause the small amount of motivation you had to go study to disappear. So, don’t forget ;).
Warm, comfortable clothes
Next up: comfortable clothes. Some people go to the UB in full glam, but most just turn up in their sweaters and/or sweatpants. It’s comfortable, it’s stylish, it’s warm and perfect for studying all day. Do I need to say more?
Emotional support water bottle
Of course we cannot forget the emotional support water bottle. This is a staple item. Whenever you feel hopeless, sad, unmotivated or something else, just hug your bottle, take a sip of water (because #stayhydrated) and know that everything will be alright.
Bread and pastries from the supermarket
Another essential are the pastries from the supermarket. Everywhere you go, you see students walking with those little plastic bags with pastries in them. Buying pastries is like a reward ;).
Your trusty laptop + charger
It’s almost too obvious to mention, but your trusty laptop and charger are also extremely important items in the starter pack. Without them your visit to the UB would be pointless, so don’t forget them (especially your charger)!
Your immensely heavy study books
The same goes for your study books, very important! They will give your brain a workout, but also your body because going up the steps with those heavy books in your backpack will definitely have you sweating.
Noise cancelling headphones or earbuds
You know those irritating people who talk loudly to each other while people are trying to study? Or those people who eat snacks in the study rooms despite the prohibition of eating food there? Bringing your noise cancelling headphones will have you slaying your assignments because you don’t get distracted by all this noise. It’s a lifesaver!
Study apps on your phone
Last but not least, we shouldn’t forget about the study apps on your phone because they can help you study more efficiently (and can guide you through a mental breakdown). Read this blog if you want to know which apps to download to have a productive study session at the UB!
Now you know what you must bring to the UB for your next (or first) study session. Let us know if we have forgotten any UB-starter-pack-staple items in the comments below.
