Very Successful Petrus Camper Festival and graduation ceremony
On Wednesday, 23rd June, the Petrus Camper Festival (PCF) took place in our Virtual Academy Building in Gather Town. Our Vice Dean, Peter Groote, opened the PCF, after which Arjen Dijkstra, the Director of the University Museum, talked a bit about Petrus Camper's work and his scientific and societal impact.
During the afternoon students, proud parents, family, friends and members of the academic community attended various activities organized by third-year undergraduate students (the Hawking Cohort) of the Honours College. In the virtual Atelier rooms of the Academy Building students presented the results of the research they have conducted recently, from presentatins and debates to quizzes, exhibitions and so much more. Participants gained valuable knowledge about the Ateliers and had fun!
Our Dean, Hanny Elzinga, officially opened the graduation ceremony which was followed by speeches from the Rector (Cisca Wijmenga), the Hawking Cohort representatives Tijne van Neerbos and Nicolas Moro, congratulatory messages from the Honours staff and others. After the ceremony, students celebrated together with their coordinators in their virtual faculty room.
Congratulations! In the face of such unknown adversity, the Hawking graduates did it! The Honours College wishes the Hawking graduates success in their future educational and profesional endeavors!
