The quantity activity (A) represents the number of nuclear disintegrations per unit of time (t). The corresponding unit is becquerel (Bq).
History
The phenomenon of radioactivity was discovered by chance in 1896 by the French physicist Antoine Henri Becquerel (1852 – 1908).
