Welcome to the Centre for Transformative Education (CTE), the hybrid research centre of Campus Fryslân and NHL-Stenden, dedicated to strengthening and transforming higher education within our region. In an era marked by profound global and local challenges, educational institutions play a key role in the empowerment of learners with the competencies to successfully engage with diversity and inclusion and drive innovative and sustainable solutions.

Within the CTE, faculty and students from both institutions come together in a vibrant research environment, dedicated to evidence-based research into the state-of-the art of education, including Education for Sustainable Development, Inner Development Goals, the International Classroom, and Design-Based Education.

Central to our mission is the cultivation of academic collaboration, the facilitation of grant acquisition, and the recruitment of PhD scholars, all aimed at amplifying our outreach and societal impact within the region. Our ultimate goal? To usher in a sustainable transition in higher education to equip learners with the tools and mindsets to navigate and thrive in a complex and unknown future.
