Association of Latin American Students in Groningen (ALAS)
The Association of Latin American Students in Groningen (ALAS) was founded on October 22, 2010, to recognize the needs and interests of Latin American students. ALAS is recognized by the University Board as one of the student organizations in Groningen, heavily connecting it to the Institution. After a period of inactivity the ALAS renewed its activities on August 5, 2022.
Through cultural, social and academic events, they involve students and the general public in Groningen who want to know more about Latin America.
The Association describes itself as a big family committed to building bridges and integrating with the different social groups living in Groningen.
ALAS is a non-profit association without political or religious affiliations. It is committed to an inclusive vision that promotes the values of honesty, respect, solidarity, friendship, and social responsibility.
