Judith Vonk
Judith Vonk is senior investigator in Epidemology. She studied Psychology at the University of Groningen (master in 1991) and Epidemiology at the University of Amsterdam (master in 2002). She wrote her PhD-thesis entitled ‘Development and outcome of Asthma’ in 2004.
Her main research interest is longitudinal studies in asthma and COPD and her research is embedded in the Groningen Research Institute on Asthma and COPD (GRIAC). She is involved in several projects on the natural history of respiratory morbidity indicators such as lung function and symptoms in both the general population and in patient populations. The focus in these projects is on additive and interactive effects of endogeneous (genetics, gender etc) and exogeneous (air pollution, smoking etc.) factors on respiratory outcome. She has published over 35 papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
