Social Movements
Supervisors:

- Dustie Spencer (University of Pusan)
Have you ever wanted to understand why groups mobilize to resist power? Social movements and collective action have played a role in shaping and redefining human societies and human rights.
The project will delve into the history of social movements with a focus on civil rights movements, environmental movements and digital rights movements.
The project is offered as a part of a collaborative grant with international students from University of Pusan. The project will involve international guest speakers, and mentors who are leaders in different social movements and human rights organisations.
The students are expected to jointly organise an end of the course event (Eg:an art exhibit, a summit, or a workshop etc). Students will also have the opportunity to contribute as co-authors to a co-edited volume on Social Movements (in form of photo-essays, academic writings and case studies).
