Experimental Philosophy

In this project, you will become an experimental philosopher yourself and you will learn about the relationship between conceptual analysis and empirical research and how to combine these methods.

The theme of this year’s project is: “Identity and Morality”. We go in depth into the topic of personal identity and we will investigate what its relationship is with our moral views. Moreover, we will talk about the relationship of identity and the self, identity and the brain, identity and the mind, free will, death, the idea of a true self, and much more.

The approach taken is an experimental philosophy approach: We philosophically investigate topics like identity/morality/mind-body/the self/etc., and we also look at empirical insights into these topics, and we combine them. Be prepared for a proper literature review, debates, discussions, and be open to explore your views of identity/morality/mind/self/society/etc.
