Understanding what’s going inside, when living with an LGBTQ+ identity and the navigation processes of coming out.

insIDe-out is a series of studies as part of an interdisciplinary PhD scholarship of the Young Academy Groningen. We aim to gain new knowledge about the connection between emotion regulation processes, identity/social stressors, as well as identity disclosure.

This may help with developing new potential interventions but not only for the gender/sexual minority group. It may additionally be useful for education of the public and developing new guidelines of inclusion and diversity. New insights could be further extended to other minority groups such as religious or ethnic minorities.
