mr. dr. R.L. (Rianne) Herregodts
Rianne Herregodts is an associate professor at the department of Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Public Administration. She is an expert in the regulation of professions, more specifically in disciplinary law.
Since the publication of her thesis on disciplinary law for accountants, doctors and lawyers in 2019, she frequently publishes articles and book chapters about topics within the field of disciplinary law. She also initiated and led the making of a handbook on disciplinary law, was the project lead of a research commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport on the future of disciplinary law for the medical professions and co-authored the evaluation of the legislation on the supervision of attorneys under the Dutch Advocates Act.
Rianne works as a deputy judge at the district court of the Northern Netherlands. She is also a member of the Committee for Academic Integrity of the RUG, Noorderrecht and the Internationalisationcommittee of the Faculty of Law.
Before she joined the University of Groningen, Rianne was a lawyer (advocaat) and a legal counsel.
