Expertise

I am lecturer at the interdisciplinary bachelor Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). My current research focusses on citizen initiatives for sustainable and biodiverse agriculture. I hold a bachelor in anthropology, research master’s in social science, and a PhD in political science. I am an associate of the UvA Sustainability Platform (USP) and fellow of the  Sustainability Technology (SusTech) research group at University of Groningen

Research
My current research focusses on the citizen cooperative Land van Ons and the PolderLab, a 10-year experimental research that explores novel ways of farming in the Netherlands, such as the growing of rice, cranberries, and a food swamp. Through qualitative research, I study the politics, governance, and coordination of the PolderLab and the experiments’ potential for (re)constructing biodiverse food infrastructures. The research is funded by the Strategic Investment Fund of the UvA.

Teaching
I have a Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) and am a Member of the Program Committee and Works Council. I teach and coordinate Philosophy of the Social Sciences (lecturer), Rhetoric, Political Science, and my own courses on Financial Intelligence and the Politics of Nature.
