an adjunct lecturer at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands; research interests: music studies, sound studies, histories of colonization, critical theory, posthumanism; his research has been published in, among others, Ethnomusicology and Popular Music & Society; doctoral thesis titled "Musicolonialism in Suriname. Sonic Contributions to the Construction of the Category of the Human and Its Others" defended at the Department of Musicology of Oslo University; the project concerned the use of sound and music by Dutch colonial power in Suriname (between 1650 and 1950) under various past reformulations of the ideological figures of Man and Human, as well as a critique of recent employments of posthuman and nonhuman theories in musicological scholarship (more about this research in a recent paper in Ethnomusicology: https://doi.org/10.5406/21567417.68.3.04).
