dr. M.N. (Michiel) Daams
Certified holder of the UTQ-BKO Dutch University Teaching Qualification.
Over the past decade, I have taught courses or seminar series at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Real Estate and Land Markets (RICS-accredited program), Economic Geography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Statistics, and Methodologies in Social Science. In a supervisory role, I have guided the thesis research projects of 97 students across undergraduate or postgraduate levels.
Current teaching contributions in the RICS-accredited Master’s Program in Real Estate Studies and the Bachelor’s Program in Human Geography and Planning:
- Real Estate and Land Supply (graduate level), Course Coordinator and Lecturer (2017-Present).
- Real Estate Principles (undergraduate level), Course Coordinator and Lecturer (2017-Present).
- Master's Thesis Course in Real Estate Studies, Thesis Supervisor.
In addition, to further improve the connection of the personal curiosity of students with class materials, I am co-developing a teaching method that promotes personalized learning, the ‘personal scientific scrapbooks’ method. I have enabled the implementation of this method by colleagues who lecture in MBA or Real Estate programs at the George Washington University, Bucknell, the University of Reading in Malaysia, and University College London.
