Academic Teacher Social Medicine and Educational Coordinator, Bachelor of Medicine

Field/Discipline
Expertise
Within the Bachelor of Medicine I fulfill multiple roles:
1. I am an Academic Teacher in the Department of Social Medicine. I develop assignments within the learning line Healthy Ageing. I also play a role in student education, both in lectures and small scale eduction. Main topics of my education are Qualitative Research, Prevention, and Health Inequalities.
2. I am coordinator of scientific education in the Bachelor of Medicine.
3. I supervise and assess student research, in bachelor, master and post-master.
In addition, my research focuses upon 'inequalities in health (care)'. The first topic of my research is health literacy, with a focus on interventions for patients and health care professionals. In addition, I am interested in the role of inequalities within education. For example, our research aims to learn the experiences of first-generation students in medical education and to support children, youth and students from lower socio-economic background or minority groups to reach their full potential.
