Tracks and traces - interwoven lines in multi-screen installations.

The core of my PhD project is the multi-screen installation, a hybrid form of art consisting of spatial arrangements of multiple screens on which moving images appear. The temporal and spatial encounters between viewers, moving images and (technological) objects, bring about potential new modes of spectatorship. Grounded in theoretical notions on installation art, ecological psychology and the study of lines, and through a study of contemporary multi-screen installations this study aims to develop a model for analysing the multi-screen installation, and the modes of spectatorship which are brought about.
