K.M. (Nelly) Marosi, MSc
I graduated from the Department of Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), where Ι received a MSc in Science in Education (2018).
I have worked as an elementary school teacher (2019-2020) and as a special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant (2015-2018) in Greek public schools.
Since 2015, I have been involved in the supervision and guidance of pre-service teachers in the Department of Education at NKUA. I supervised and guided pre-service teachers in Practicing Science Teaching in schools (2015-2016). In 2018, I designed and implemented a STEM Laboratory course for pre-service teachers. Moreover, I provided supervision in Laboratory practice of Science (2015-2020), Geography (2019-2020), and Teaching of Science (2018-2020).
I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. My research interests are in the areas of culturally responsive pedagogies, queer-inclusive pedagogies, identity-based research, and science engagement of minoritized students.
Alongside my Ph.D. research, I work for two EU projects, the ALL-INTERACT: Widening and diversifying citizen engagement with science (EU-H2020, 2020-2023; Budget: 1.1 million euro) and the STEAM4ALL: Towards an Inclusive STEAM programme for ALL (Erasmus+, KA220-SCH, 2022-2024).
The ALLINTERACT project aims to examine and address long-standing inequalities and exclusion of specific groups (women, refugees, LGTBQIA+, ethnic/religious minorities) from science in the European context. The aim of the STEAM4ALL project is to develop an interdisciplinary STEAM program to empower and actively engage students, teachers, school leaders, school staff and school communities to apply STEAM activities, robotics and digital tools to develop important 21st century skills for students.
