Kseniia Bespalova is a PhD candidate and a film curator. Her research interests revolve around non-fiction audiovisual media, decolonial approaches in post-Soviet studies, environmental and landscape cinema. Her PhD research investigates the aesthetics of elemental violence and the materiality of memory concerning colonial exploitation in contemporary films and audio-visual media from area that 'used to be the Soviet Union’.
