J. (Jeroen) Onrust, PhD

Personal Information

Born in 1989 on the edge of the Hondsrug (a large ridge of sand in Drenthe and Groningen), I grew up in a fascinating environment with many different landscapes just around the corner. The fascination for everything that lives and interact with eachother and with the abiotic environment brought me to the other side of the Hondsrug. At the University of Groningen I studied Biology from 2007-2012 with a specialization in ecology and evolution. After finishing my study I started a PhD at the same university about the interaction between earthworms and meadow birds in Friesland. This project is funded by the University Campus Fryslân (UCF). Since 2020 I work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Godwit Landscape Project.
