Research interests

The use of peri-operative neurophysiological monitoring has led to a better understanding of the mechanisms of action and interaction between hypnotics and opioids. By implementing bedside advisory screens, target-controlled infusion pumps and new neurophysiological monitoring systems,  anaesthetic effect can be targeted in a more predictable, rational and evidence based way. Administration of anaesthetics in a "just-enough-to-do-the-job"-approach will eventually result in benificiary effects on short- and longterm outcomes of anaesthesia. Better control = more predictable result!
