Expertise
I work as senior advisor on European funding/affairs at the University Services (former Bureau/Office of the University), in the Cluster Research & Impact . This department plays a central role in providing advice on EU research matters and acquiring European research grants. My tasks involve monitoring the developments in European programs, especially Horizon Europe (former H2020) and reporting and providing advice to my colleagues, researchers and other stakeholders in the University. I am also in charge of identifying and promoting opportunities to develop research projects and organising training on European grants and policies. My duties comprise providing management information and policy advice to the Executive Board of the University and policy makers at the UG. I am currently developing a PhD on the International Right to Health at QUB, where I am a member the Law's Health and Human Right Unit. I am also a fellow researcher at the Groningen Centre for Health Law (UG).
I have more than 10 years of experience working on European affairs in Brussels. Prior to this, I interned for the European Court of Human Rights and assisted a MEP at the European Parliament (both in Strasbourg, France). I hold a Law Master from the University of Seville, an MA and Certificate in European Studies from the University Robert Schuman-Strasbourg, and a European Master’s Degree on Human Rights and Democratisation from the EIUC and the University of Nottingham.
