Expertise
I am a political philosopher with an insatiable interest in compromise. My research explores compromise in various contexts, including religious diversity, workplace conflicts, and most recently, tactical voting and digital democratic innovations. For situations where compromise is unattainable, I have theorised “the right to a fair exit” — the right to dissociate from an association without undue costs. Prior to joining the University of Groningen, I was involved in two postdoctoral research projects: one investigating public life and religious diversity at the University of Oxford (2016-2019), and another studying the ethics of voting, supported by a Horizon 2020 Grant at Sciences Po Paris (2019-2020). I earned my PhD from Sciences Po Paris in 2016 and was a Fox Fellow at Yale University (2013-2014) and an Alliance visiting scholar at Columbia University (2015).
