In 2006, I obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) from the National Institute of Education in Singapore. I then spent a decade as a Biology educator with the Ministry of Education (MOE). During this time, I taught in two secondary schools and had a three-year stint in the Curriculum Planning and Development Division in MOE. These varied experiences allowed me to accumulate knowledge and skills in different areas, including leadership of a science department in a secondary school, review and development of science curriculum, and training of in-service teachers.

After I left the teaching service in 2016, I obtained my Master of Science in Science Communication with the National University of Singapore and Australian National University.

I began my PhD research journey in 2018, focusing on teacher learning in the context of interdisciplinary collaboration. In 2022, I came to Groningen as part of a double degree PhD programme between UG and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Along the way, I embarked on a new career path, taking on the role of educational developer in the PIE team at FSE.
