I am the author of two monographs: Il mockumentary: la fiction si maschera da documentario (Mimesis, 2013) and The Classical Animated Documentary and Its Contemporary Evolution (Bloomsbury, 2022), which received the 2024 Honorable Mention for Best Monograph in Animation from the Society for Animation Studies. I am also the editor of several volumes, including Mariangela Melato tra cinema, teatro e televisione (Mimesis 2016), Valentina Cortese: un’attrice intermediale (Mimesis 2019), and (with S. Bellotti and L. Cesaro) The (Un)bearable Lightness of Media. Critical Approaches to Sustainability in Film and Audiovisual Production, Circulation and Preservation (Mimesis International, 2024). My research interests include animation, documentary (with particular attention to docufiction forms), film and environmental sustainability, and female Italian stardom.
