C. (Chara) Bitsaki, MSc
In 2016 I graduated from the Department of Chemistry, University of Crete and in 2020 I started an MSc degree in Science Education.
During my MSc degree, I participated in various activities such as teaching assistance in courses: 1) Physics' fundamental concepts (Department of Primary Education, University of Crete) 2) STEM Education (Department of Primary Education & School of Science and Engineering, University of Crete) and 3) Science Education (Department of Primary Education, University of Crete). Moreover, I contributed to various Erasmus + projects such as IDENTITIES, which designs novel teaching approaches on interdisciplinarity in science and mathematics to innovate pre-service teacher education for contemporary challenges. Finally, the focus of my master thesis is on pre-service teachers' education in the Interdisciplinary STEM approach to Climate Change and Nanotechnology.
Since June 2023 I am a Ph.D. student under a double degree at the Institute of Science Education and Communication (ISEC) at the University of Groningen and the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete. During my PhD, I investigate Science Teacher Identity focused on the Interdisciplinary approach to Climate Change and Sustainability Competences. In addition, I work as a project manager in the Erasmus + project SMILE (Sustainable Mobility in School Education) which aim to increase students' and teachers' awareness on Climate Change and Sustainability.
