prof. dr. B.J. (Ben) Heijdra
Ben Heijdra retired on June 16, 2024. Up to then he typically taught one bachelor course and two masters courses per year. In the main bachelor course, Intermediate Macroeconomics, he forges the link between the verbal-graphical macro courses (taught in the first two years of the program) and the more analytical masters level courses.
The macro sequence is completed in Heijdra's masters course, Macroeconomics for MSc Economics. In this course the main topics are (i) theories of aggregate economic growth (viz. exogenous and endogenous growth) and (ii) intergenerational macroeconomics (overlapping generations, Ricardian non-equivalence).
In the Research Master program Heijdra taught the core course Macroeconomic Theory. It covers all topics of the regular master course in more depth and adds sessions on DSGE methods.
