Participation, engagement, inclusion and dialogue in museums of science and technology in Latin American and Caribbean countries: actions, concepts and public policy

Project funded by CNPQ (Conselho Nacional de desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico - Brazil) that aims to investigate, at different levels of analysis (conceptions, actions and public policies), the possibilities and limits for participation, inclusion, engagement and dialogue in science and technology museums in American countries Latin and Caribbean. Specifically we intend to: a) Outline an overview, for S&T museums in Latin America and the Caribbean, educational and communication actions that involve participation, inclusion, engagement and dialogue. b) Establish dialogues between the conceptions of S&T museum educators and communicators with theoretical aspects present in the literature, doing a complexification of current discussions on equity and social justice. c) Point out elements for the transforming museum praxis, specifically for professional training and the elaboration of educational and communicational actions. d) Emerge conceptual and strategic elements for the formulation of public policies aimed at equity and social justice in S&T museums.
