Aline her research explores the supply chain management thinking in the public domain. Main research settings that Aline is currently focusing on are justice, refugee, youth care and debt counseling services. These public services are provided by chains of well-intentioned organizations. Still, citizens continuously experience long waiting times, scarce availability of resources, and increased throughput times. Given that these public services have a high impact on the well-being of society, while facing many supply chain management related challenges, better understanding is needed.
She aims to use her research to generate insights, principles and methods for supply chains that have a public aim. She aims to boost the understanding of the inter-organizational management of public services and diminish challenges for public organizations, alleviating burdens for citizens and society.
Recently, Aline Seepma together with Nonhlanhla Dube and Isabell Storsjo received the EurOMA Early Career Networking Grant for their research on ‘The European refugee crisis through the lens of OSCM: From crisis response to value creation in refugee supply chains’. An updated overview of her research can be found here.
Aline aims to contribute to the Operations and Supply Chain Management Community in different ways. Since 2022 Aline is part of the Journal of Supply Chain Management Editorial Review Board. Since 2023 Aline is leader of the Journal of Supply Chain Management Editorial Review Board Developmental Programme. Moreover she is elected board member of the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) since 2023.
