PhD project:  The neurobiology of sensory information processing deficits in autism spectrum disorders

In this project, protein translation in the brain and sensory information processing and behaviour of developing mice will be studied. These mice carry mutations in genes that have been previously associated with ASD and represent a genetic model. Behavioral measures that allow to provide sensory profiles in these mice in relation to protein translation and sensory cortex development have been established. In addition, early life pharmacological and/or viral-vector directed interventions at the level of protein translation with their effect on adult life sensory processing and behaviour will be studied.
