RUG Students Team Up with Cordaid to Investigate Climate Change Effects on Conflict in South Sudan and Mali
After ten weeks of enthusiastically working on our project, it has come to an end with our finalpresentation last Tuesday (30 January) at Cordaid’s office in The Hague. There, we havepresented our two final products; a background report and a policy advice.
We have come to our findings and recommendations after having conducted a lot of researchon the climate-conflict nexus, and after having had three different interviews with experts in thefield of climate, security and policies. We are very proud of our end products and we feelconfident that it can be of value for Cordaid in their future projects.
Looking back, it has been an insightful experience to be working in a group of six students onone project for such a long period. It has taught us a lot about teamwork, communication and how to provide a well-researched and carefully formulated background report and policy advice.
We are thankful that the Career Minor and Cordaid have given us the opportunity for this project.
