40 years UG Science Shop

In 1975 dr. Hans Reddingius, professor of biology at the University of Groningen, wrote a note to the University Councel called "A university wide Science Shop?". The goal of this note was to improve the cultural and societal impact of science. Four years later, the University of Groningen Science Shops started. Now, 40 years later, six faculty science shops take on about 200 questions from civil society organisations. And with more than 300 students helping these organisations out, this is cause for celebration!
