XR in Human Movement Sciences lab | Anniek Heerschop, PhD Human Movement Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences RUG/UMCG
At the Department of Human Movement Sciences of the University of Groningen, we study movement, perturbation of movement and interaction between individuals. In collaboration with the CIT, a virtual environment has been developed in which a football player has to intercept an opponent's ball. Position data of arms, legs and head, collected with Vicon (motion capture) are combined with position data collected from the Head Mounted Display. This collective data is communicated to Unity where it is used to place the footballer player in a virtual football stadium and to track and display his position and movements in real time.
XR HUB
Every two months, the XR Hub organizes a meeting for teachers and researchers from the University of Groningen to share knowledge and experiences about the development and use of Extended Reality applications: augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR) and 3D.
