Teachers who started before February 1st, 2025

Regular UTQ trajectory

If you are already enrolled in the regular UTQ programme, it is important to register for the remaining modules. If possible, we would like to ask you to finish the trajectory before July 1st, 2025. The following steps are required to complete your UTQ trajectory:

1. Attending and completing all three UTQ modules (Teaching & Evaluating, Designing, and Assessing & Evaluating);
2. Completion of the Final Reflection assignment in Brightspace;
3. Final Meeting with your Teaching Coach;
4. (optional) Join the UTQ Certificate Ceremony.

If it is not possible to complete all the modules before the summer, you will have to continue your UTQ track in September in the new format (see below for dates and more information).

UTQ by Experience trajectory

If you are already enrolled in a UTQ by Experience trajectory (or maybe even the old UTQ Portfolio trajectory), we would like to ask you to finish your assignments or portfolio before July 1st, 2025. The following steps are required to complete your UTQ trajectory:

1. Completion of the assignments for all three UTQ competencies in Brightspace (Teaching & Evaluating, Designing, and Assessing & Evaluating);
2. Notifying docentprofessionalisering@rug.nl for assessment of your assignments;
3. Completion of the Final Reflection assignment in Brightspace;
4. (optional) Final Meeting with your Teaching Coach;
5. (optional) Join the UTQ Certificate Ceremony.

If it is not possible to complete all the assignments before July 1st, please contact docentprofessionalisering@rug.nl to determine your next steps.

Teachers who wish to start after February 1st, 2025

Apply for the UTQ trajectory

It is important to apply for the UTQ via the online registration form. This form contains questions about your educational experience in Higher Education and if you've joined other didactical training or qualification programmes.

After receiving the form, you will receive instructions about how to proceed (and in which trajectory) by email within 1-2 months.

Regular UTQ trajectory

The regular UTQ trajectory consists of two separate modules: 

• Teaching & Supervising (T&S)
• Designing & Assessing (D&A)

The modules follow the semester setup of the academic year calendar of the UG, starting in September and February. Each module will consist of 4 on-site meetings of 3 hours each. You can determine the order of the modules to follow; the only requirement for the T&S module is that it aligns with actual teaching tasks during the same semester. If possible, it is recommended to start with the T&S module and join the D&A module in the following semester.
