Centre for Quantum Materials and Devices

Our centre aims to accelerate the development of novel quantum materials and devices using advanced nanofabrication and nanocharacterization techniques. The CQMD@UG is geared to enable new materials and device architectures for future applications in (quantum) information, communications and sensing technologies, and (green) energy. For this we uses the strengths of the researchers at the University of Groningen on the fabrication of new quantum materials and heterostructures, and on the fabrication of quantum devices that explore collective quantum phenomena for new functionalities.

We are committed to achieve our goals by enabling collaborations between our world-class researchers and other national and international collaborators and companies, bringing together a diverse community involving junior and senior researchers.
