Jan Anton Koster new Director of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering
As of March 1, 2025, Prof. Jan Anton Koster will be the Director of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering (GSSE). Koster is Professor in Physics of Novel Semiconductors and Devices at the Zernike Institute. He has been involved with the GSSE as a member of the PhD Supervisor Advisory Board since 2022 and was the recipient of the first PhD Supervisor of the Year award in 2018. Koster follows the steps of Prof. Sabeth Verpoorte, who will return to her research group at the GRIP institute as Professor of Analytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis. Verpoorte has been Director of the GSSE from September 2020 and led new developments to support scientific staff in their supervisory tasks, such as specific trainings and the creation of a website for supervisors. During her directorship the new Engineering Doctorates (EngD) have been established.
