Bart van Wees featured in Physical Review B 50th Anniversary Milestones
Physical Review B: Condensed Matter and Materials Physics is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. As part of the celebration, in 2020 the editors are presenting a Milestone collection of papers that have made lasting contributions to condensed matter physics. We are more than proud to see Bart van Wees featured among them with his publication "Fundamental obstacle for electrical spin injection from a ferromagnetic metal into a diffusive semiconductor" G. Schmidt, D. Ferrand, L. W. Molenkamp, A. T. Filip, and B. J. van Wees Phys. Rev. B 62, R4790 (2000).
In the milestone summary it says: "Beside the clarity of thought and execution, this Milestone left its mark not just as a no-go result of heavy consequence, but also as outlining the truly promising avenues to advance the agenda that would give the fancy word spintronics some substance beyond what was already known at the turn of the century."
Phys. Rev. B - Zernike Institute Facts
With its focus on Condensed Matter and Materials Physics, Phys.Rev.B is well aligned to the scope of large parts of the Zernike Institute's research, making it the prime journal for publishing many of its results (See Figure below, based on Zernike Institute affiliation 2007-2020, source Web of Science Dec. 2020).
