Vincent Voet wins Challa Polymer Award

Vincent Voet won the KNCV Challa Polymer Award for his thesis entitled “Block copolymers based on poly(vinylidene fluoride)” that he defended on January 30, 2015 with the distinction cum laude.
The KNCV Challa Polymer Award is presented every two years to a young scientist under 30 that defended his /her PhD thesis at a Dutch University in the broad field of polymer science and engineering. The scientific publications of Vincent as well as his PhD thesis were judged as being outstanding contributions to polymer science. The award will be presented to Vincent at the annual Dutch Polymer Days in Lunteren.
In his thesis Vincent explored the synthesis and self-assembly of block copolymers containing poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) segments, and investigated the use of those block copolymers as precursors for nanostructured ferroelectric and multiferroic materials. Vincent presented his research on various conferences in the form of a poster and/or oral presentation. He also won the price for the best poster on the Bayreuth Polymer Symposium 2010 and the price for the best plenary lecture on the Dutch Polymer Days 2014.
