Han Thomas Adriaenssen and Bettina Reitz-Joosse announced as new members of De Jonge Akademie.
The Dutch National Young Academy, De Jonge Akademie, announced today that Young Academy Groningen members Han Thomas Adriaenssen and Bettina Reitz-Joosse have been selected as two of the 10 new DJA members.

Dr. Han Thomas Adriaenssen is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Philosophy, in the History of Philosophy. Dr. Bettina Reitz-Joosse is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Arts, in Latin Language and Literature.
Bettina and Han Thomas both joined the Young Academy Groningen in 2016 as two of the 17 founding members. Since then, both Han Thomas and Bettina have taken an active role in the Policy and Diversity & Internationalization working groups, and most recently as members of the Young Academy Board.
The Young Acadmey Groningen is a club for the University's most talented and enthusiastic young researchers. Modeled after the KNAW's National Young Academy, Young Academy Groningen members are role models for academic research, both at the University and nationally. Members act as a voice on behalf of all early career researchers at the University, and they take an active role in the broader applications of academic research, including actively promoting diversity in academia, scientific outreach initiatives, policy development, and interdisciplinary research projects.
