A. (Antonija) Grubisic-Cabo, PhD

Antonija is an assistant professor at the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials (since 2022), where she works with surface sensitive techniques and their application in solid-state physics. Her current work focuses on nano- and quantum materials, tailoring their properties, and studying how they behave when they are pushed out of equilibrium. Her primary goal is to identify materials with hidden phases and novel or unconventional properties not present in their natural state. Beyond her passion for fundamental physics and nanoscience, Antonija is deeply committed to open science and effective science communication. As a member of the Young Academics Groningen (YAG), she participates in the Communications and Interdisciplinary Committee. Through this role, she aspires to contribute to YAG's public engagement initiatives, and to make science accessible to everyone and inspire the general public's curiosity in science.
