Ema Dimastrogiovanni awarded the Beate Naroska Junior Guest Professorship 2021 at the University of Hamburg
Our colleague Ema Dimastrogiovanni (Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity) has been awarded the Beate Naroska Junior Guest Professorship 2021 at the University of Hamburg. She receives the award for her outstanding research in Particle Physics and Fundamental Physics, as well as for her active involvement in creating equal opportunities for women in physics.
Dr. Emanuela Dimastrogiovanni is currently Assistant Professor at the Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and Gravity in Groningen. In 2010, she passed her doctorate at the University of Padova. In her current research she focuses on primordial gravitational waves and is planning on using cosmology, specifically gravitational wave observations, to advance fundamental physics.
Dr. Emanuela Dimastrogiovanni: “A messenger from the early universe, primordial gravitational waves are the next frontier for gravitational wave science and the main target of several upcoming cosmological probes. The main goal of my work is to 'prepare' theory to meet experiments by investigating mechanisms for gravitational waves production during inflation, and developing the formalism to extract their signatures from observations. I am excited to begin new collaborations with the Quantum Universe cluster directed at exploiting gravitational waves for cosmology and fundamental physics.”
