Title:
Leptoquarks in an SO(10) Grand Unified Theory
Abstract:
Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) aim to unify the three fundamental forces of the Standard Model into a single interaction. In this talk, we discuss a GUT based on SO(10) that has the possibility of TeV-scale new physics. We specifically demonstrate a scenario that includes scalar leptoquarks with masses as low as 1.5 TeV. Leptoquarks are particles that carry both lepton and baryon numbers. The particular scalar leptoquarks we discuss predominantly interact with the third generation and could potentially be observed at proton-proton colliders such as the LHC or the proposed FCC-hh.
