Title: ‘Infinite-dimensional symmetries and black holes’
Abstract:
In this talk, I will review the recent advances in the understanding of intriguing infinite-dimensional symmetries that emerge at the boundary of spacetimes. These symmetries play an important role in the description of many phenomena such as gravitational memory effects, scattering amplitudes in flat space and black hole thermodynamics. By connecting seemingly unrelated topics in theoretical physics, infinite-dimensional symmetries have shed a new light on the fascinating universal features of gauge theories and gravity.
