Searching for TeV scale leptoquarks in Grand Unified Theories
Searching for TeV scale leptoquarks in Grand Unified Theories
Abstract:
Grand Unified Theories (GUTs) are prime candidates for extensions of the Standard Model. An important prediction of GUTs is the existence of leptoquarks: hypothetical particles that may, for instance, contribute to proton decay. In this presentation, we discuss the mass scales at which we can expect the presence of leptoquarks. Specifically, we identify a scenario where leptoquarks can naturally exist at the TeV scale. This finding provides theoretical motivation to continue the search for leptoquarks at experimentally accessible energies.
