NIDI - Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute
NIDI is a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and affiliated with the University of Groningen. NIDI works together with a number of faculties of the University of Groningen including the Faculty of Spatial Sciences, on topics related primarily to the themes of healthy ageing and sustainable society. www.nidi.nl
KKNN - Knowledge Network Population Decline Northern Netherlands
The Faculty of Spatial Sciences cooperates with the Hanze University in the Knowledge Network Population Decline Northern Netherlands (KKNN). The aim of the KKNN is to bring together knowledge on demographic change in the Northern parts of the Netherlands. KKNN – Netwerk Noord-Nederland
Sustainable Road Infrastructure
Rijkswaterstaat, the executive department of the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management (RWS) and the University of Groningen, Faculty of Spatial Sciences, Department of Planning (RUG) have a cooperation programme meant to develop theoretical and practical insights for a sustainable planning of motorway infrastructure in the Netherlands. rug.nl/research/ursi/collaboration/duurzame-netwerken/
PartnerLife
PartnerLife is a collaborative project between the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), the University of Cologne (Germany), and the University of St Andrews (United Kingdom). The project addresses how partner trajectories and residential trajectories develop in relation to each other in people’s life courses, and how these trajectories and the interactions between them relate to the contextual backgrounds of Germany, the UK and the Netherlands. partnerlifeproject.org
POP Exchange
POP Exchange is an international collaboration between Makerere University, (Uganda), University of Ghana (Ghana), University of Groningen, (the Netherlands), and University of the Witwatersrand, (South Africa), between their Demography departments and master programs in Population Studies and Demography. The partnership aims to expand the network of students, staff and faculty to encourage joint research and knowledge sharing. It also aims to strengthen diversity in our classrooms, and offers students and researchers an opportunity to further develop their intercultural communication skills and understanding of demographic events in different contexts.
