Anaís Couto Vasconcelos

Anaís is a Brazilian bachelor student from Instituto Federal da Bahia, in the city of Salvador. Currently is benefiting from the Brazilian government exchange program Science Without Borders, in which she has the opportunity to study at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen for one year. She joined Dr. Katalin Barta´s group in January 2016, where is learning about catalysis and biomass conversion. She is involved in the synthesis of hydrotalcite based catalysts and their application in biomass conversion. She is also pursuing a research line related to lignin depolymerization. Anaís just started her scientific life, but she is already very interested in biomass conversion and biobased products.
